Articles and Work

Currently, Sarah has spent months working against the Kids Online Safety Act and related bad internet bills that would have severe repercussions for free speech, digital privacy, and LGBTQ content online. She has been interviewed for several publications about this work and was most recently published in Teen Vogue for an op-ed laying out how KOSA would harm online LGBTQ+ communities: https://www.teenvogue.com/story/kids-online-safety-act-lgbtq-youth

Sarah has worked for publications including The Dallas Morning News and The Daily Texan.

At the Dallas Morning News, Sarah was one of four interns in the newspaper’s high school intern program. Through the program, she spent the summer between her senior year of high school and her freshman year in college on the breaking news desk, covering crime and health, specializing in a Facebook animals beat—one that is highly underrated in her opinion.

After spending the summer at the DMN internship, Sarah took exactly one day off before devoting her first semester of college to covering politics and the 2016 election as the senior city/state reporter at The Daily Texan, which is the student-run newspaper of the University of Texas at Austin.
